Dear NCST Partners:

I’m writing with mixed emotions to let you know that Julia Gordon, president of NCST, will depart the organization as of March 31. As many of you know, Julia has been nominated for the FHA Commissioner position at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and while she continues to await Senate confirmation at the time of this letter, she has made a personal decision to step down earlier to ensure a smooth transition for NCST. Until a new NCST president is named, Carlos Alcazar, currently Chief Operating Officer, will serve as acting president.

The Board and staff would like to thank Julia for her significant contributions to NCST. In six and a half years at the organization, Julia has helped launch multiple new projects, including a highly successful federal policy advocacy initiative and an innovative loan fund to support single-family redevelopment. With a steady hand and positive attitude, she successfully shepherded NCST through the pandemic when the foreclosure moratoria instituted to help homeowners had a severe budget impact on the organization. NCST has greatly benefited from Julia’s unwavering commitment to equitable, affordable homeownership and creating stronger neighborhoods for all, and we are confident that she will bring invaluable leadership and vision to HUD just as she has to NCST.

Going forward, NCST is already working with BroadView Talent Partners to find NCST’s next president. We feel confident that we will find a dynamic new leader with a true passion for our mission and the ability to continue moving us towards even greater impact. We appreciate and welcome your support as we embark on this next chapter in NCST’s story.
