This formerly vacant property was acquired by the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) and required over $50,000 to complete the rehabilitation. The 110 year-old home in Pittsburgh’s Avalon
neighborhood offers four bedrooms and two bathrooms with nearly 2,000 square feet of living space. This project included full renovations of the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as adding a fresh coat of paint throughout the interior.
The kitchen renovation included replacing countertops, installing updated cabinets and replacing appliances such as an electric range, microwave and dishwasher. Additionally, key aspects of the electrical system were addressed including rewiring the basement. The buyer was attentive to smaller matters such as replacing interior and exterior lighting fixtures and ceiling fans.
With its brick-lined streets and historic architecture, Pittsburgh’s Avalon borough is an attractive choice for homebuyers and renters alike. This property, in particular, features historic elements such as a handsome brick fireplace and is situated on a brick-lined stretch of Florence Avenue. Avalon is just a quick drive or bus ride from downtown Pittsburgh’s cultural opportunities such as the theatre and symphony as well as professional sports. Avalon also offers dining and shopping amenities along nearby California Avenue business district.
