Westland, MI – New Hope Community Development

Brick home with tan shutters and a walkway to the front door

This home in Westland, MI, received more than $40,000 in rehab before being sold to an owner-occupant. The kitchen was remodeled, including new ceramic tile, cabinets, and paint, and the living room was freshly painted and a new ceramic tile entryway installed. The bedrooms had numerous updates including wallpaper removal, drywall repairs, fresh paint, and new closet doors. The bathrooms were remodeled including new bathtubs, vanities, toilets, drywall repairs, fresh paint and new flooring. The basement was weatherproofed, the deck was power washed and a new garage was built.

This first-time homebuyer was very nervous about the process of purchasing a home. He had heard horror stories in regard to sellers lying about properties or trying to deceive potential buyers. However, his experience with New Hope went very well.

“Walking into the house on Bison street, I immediately felt at home,” he said. “All the work that was done to remodel the house appeared to be very high quality. The inspector confirmed the house was ‘very nice’ and everything was done correctly. I couldn’t be happier to be buying a home from New Hope Community Development. They were easy to work with, and every time a repair needed to be done prior to closing, New Hope Community Development made sure to get it done. Thank you to New Hope for making the purchase of my first home a great experience.”

New Hope also generously provided $2,500 in closing cost assistance to the buyer.
